Lee County kills 54 acres of invasive trees

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. – Fifty-four acres of dead trees line both sides of Interstate-75 north of the Caloosahatchee River where Lee County used $342,000 in grant money to destroy the plants. The hope is that the Caloosahatchee Creek Preserve will return to a healthy ecosystem after acres of invasive trees and bushes were killed .
