OKEECHOBEE, Fla. Crews will use drones Thursday to comb through portions of the state for a missing 10-year-old girl from San Carlos Park.
Crews from a pair of volunteer organizations picked up the search this week for Diana Alvarez one year after her disappearance.
“Some areas of interest have been found” in regard to Diana’s whereabouts, said Sarah Whitten-Grisby, a spokeswoman for Peace River K-9 Search and Rescue, one of the groups involved in the renewed search.
The crews are looking near the Alvarez home, as well as in areas near Okeechobee, Moore Haven and Indiantown in accordance with records from the cellphone of former family friend Jorge Guerrero, who’s suspected of taking her.
Guerrero was convicted May 16 on charges of producing and possessing child pornography but has never formally been charged with abducting Diana.
