LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. Thirteen structures were damaged in a 400-acre brush fire that ignited near West Ninth Street and Ann Ave North Friday afternoon, the Florida Fire Service said.
The blaze is 75 percent contained, according to Lee County deputies.
Lehigh Senior High School will be open as a pet-friendly shelter throughout the night.
There are several roads closed in the area due to heavy smoke, deputies said. Motorists are advised to avoid the area or seek an alternate route.
No injuries were reported.
