Cape woman facing DUI charges from fatal October crash

FORT MYERS, Fla. A 52-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday in connection to a deadly crash on Halloween 2016 at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Michael G. Rippe Parkway, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Cynthia M. Moss, of Southeast 10th Street in Cape Coral, is facing charges of DUI manslaughter and three counts of DUI property damage. She drove the 2007 Dodge Charger that hit and killed 55-year-old Annette Cara Jones-Bowers after running a red light, according to the FHP.

A toxicology analysis of Cynthia M. Moss’s blood determined the following ethyl alcohol and drug results:

· Ethyl Alcohol .103 g/100 ml of blood
· Positive for Oxycodone
· Positive for Benzoylecgonine
· Positive for 11-nor-9-carboxy-delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol

Drivers with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher are considered to be impaired under Florida law.
