TALLAHASSEE, Fla. A Florida Highway Patrol sweep across Southwest Florida turned up a host of illegal drugs and resulted in 100 citations.
Troopers recovered 6.8 grams of crack cocaine, 7.2 grams of heroin, 73 grams of bath salts, 422 grams of marijuana, 13 doses of OxyContin, seven doses of Adderall and one dose of Clonazepam were recovered from Operation Ground Up, according to an FHP press release.
The operation was part of a weeklong training program designed to help troopers identify drug-related activity on the road.
Troopers and other law enforcement officers pulled over 327 vehicles and inspected 100 of them, the FHP said. It’s unclear if anyone was arrested.
The effort drew praise from Attorney General Pam Bondi.
“This well-executed operation seized massive quantities of dangerous drugs before they could be sold on our streets and poison our citizens,” Bondi said.
