NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. One person was killed Tuesday afternoon in an unusual hit-and-run near the intersection of Pine Island Road and Judd Creek Boulevard, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Rachel Lowe, 44, of North Fort Myers, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was a passenger in the only vehicle involved in the incident, which happened at around 4:25 p.m., according to the FHP.
The driver left the scene and remains at large, state troopers said. The make and model of the vehicle is unclear.
