SOUTH FORT MYERS, Fla. A home sustained severe damage after it burst into flames early Thursday morning, Iona-McGregor Fire Protection & Rescue Service District officials said.
The fire started around 2 a.m. in Catalina Isles. Neighbors rushed to help the homeowners after they heard an explosion.
“I look to my right and there’s this giant two-story flame reaching up. I was like wow, I’ve never seen a fire that strong before,” said neighbor Marc Agostino, whose family tried to help put out the blaze until firefighters arrived.
No injuries were reported.
A floating ember likely caused the blaze, firefighters said.
